Egis Secures Key Role Supporting Future Transport Projects Across London

Engineering and consultancy group Egis has strengthened its position in the UK transport sector after being appointed to Transport for London's Professional Services Framework, a move that could see the company involved in some of the capital's most significant infrastructure programmes over the coming years.

The appointment, which became effective in April, gives Egis access to provide specialist programme management, project delivery and procurement expertise across a wide range of transport initiatives being developed by TfL.

The framework covers projects across London's extensive transport network, including the Underground, Overground, Docklands Light Railway, bus services and wider urban mobility infrastructure.

Egis will support project development from initial planning and business case preparation through to delivery and implementation. The company will undertake programme and project management responsibilities through a partnership with a UK-based specialist programme management consultancy.

Alongside project delivery services, Egis has also secured a role providing procurement and commercial advisory support. This work will include helping TfL engage with suppliers, develop procurement strategies, assess bids and manage commercial negotiations for future contracts.

The appointment arrives at a time when TfL is considering a number of major investment

programmes aimed at maintaining and enhancing London's transport network. As these schemes move forward, specialist expertise will be required to support delivery, commercial management and strategic planning.

For Egis, the framework award represents a significant milestone in its UK growth strategy and further expands its involvement in major public transport projects.

The company has already built a substantial presence within Britain's rail sector through its work with Network Rail and other national infrastructure programmes. The latest appointment also allows Egis to draw on experience gained from delivering large-scale metro projects internationally, including its involvement in the Grand Paris Express programme in France, one of Europe's largest urban transport developments.

Company leaders say the relationship will not only allow them to bring international expertise to London but will also provide opportunities to learn from one of the world's most established transport authorities.

He said the company intends to apply lessons learned from major international infrastructure programmes while working closely with TfL to help deliver projects that support London's continued growth and connectivity.

The framework appointment places Egis among the organisations positioned to contribute to the next generation of transport investment in the capital, as London continues to modernise and expand its transport infrastructure to meet future demand.
