FM Conway secures long-term highways contracts in Westminster and Bromley

FM Conway, part of VINCI Construction UK, has strengthened its position in London's highways maintenance sector after securing major long-term contracts with Westminster City Council and the London Borough of Bromley.

The awards will see the company deliver a broad range of highway maintenance, infrastructure management and emergency response services across two of the capital's busiest boroughs.

Major Westminster appointment

Westminster City Council has appointed FM Conway to deliver a comprehensive infrastructure services contract covering the design, inspection, construction and maintenance of the borough's highway assets.

The agreement has an initial term of eight and a half years, with the option to extend for a further four years, and is valued at approximately £52 million per year.

Under the contract, FM Conway will be responsible for maintaining a wide range of public infrastructure, including carriageways, footways, pedestrian crossings, street lighting, drainage systems, bridges and other highway structures.

The appointment supports Westminster's ongoing programme of maintaining one of the UK's busiest urban road networks, which serves residents, businesses and millions of visitors each year.

Bromley renews highways partnership

In a separate award, the London Borough of Bromley has selected FM Conway to deliver two highways maintenance contracts covering both planned works and emergency highway repairs.

The contracts are worth around £7 million annually and will run for an initial six-year period, with the potential to extend for an additional four years.

Services will include routine road maintenance, reactive repairs and emergency response activities aimed at keeping Bromley's highway network safe and operational.

The latest contract wins further reinforce FM Conway's established role as one of London's leading highways maintenance contractors.

The company already delivers infrastructure services for a number of local authorities across the capital, supporting the maintenance and improvement of roads, footways, bridges and public spaces.

The multi-year agreements provide both councils with continuity of service while enabling long-term investment in maintaining and improving critical transport infrastructure.
