Go-Ahead London has selected transport analytics specialist Intermoda to provide an advanced performance management platform designed to improve operational insight across Transport for London's bus network.

The partnership will introduce enhanced data analysis and reporting capabilities to support one of the capital's largest bus operators as it continues to monitor service delivery, contractual performance and network reliability.

As Transport for London's biggest contracted bus operator, Go-Ahead London manages services within one of the world's most demanding public transport environments, where performance is measured against a wide range of operational indicators.

The initial phase of the collaboration will focus on improving how lost mileage is recorded, analysed and attributed, providing greater transparency over service performance. However, both organisations say the agreement also creates a platform for wider operational improvements through more effective use of data.

Intermoda says the appointment reflects growing demand from transport authorities and operators for digital tools capable of consolidating complex operational information into a single reporting environment.

The company has recently expanded its presence in the UK market, including securing a contract with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority to deliver a Bus Franchise Contract Management System and Performance Payment Calculator.

John Langford-Ely, Chief Executive and co-founder of Intermoda, said the agreement with Go-Ahead London highlighted the flexibility of the company's technology.

"Go-Ahead London is one of the most sophisticated and high-performing bus operators globally. Partnering with it to enhance how operational performance is measured, managed and optimised is a strong validation of the capability and flexibility of Intermoda's platform."

He added that while the project begins with improvements to lost mileage reporting, it has the potential to support much broader operational improvements over time.

"Public transport networks are becoming increasingly complex, with operators navigating the transition to electrified fleets, evolving contract models, workforce pressures, congestion, and the challenge of managing a real-time reliable service to customers."

Mr Langford-Ely said the increasing number of digital systems used across the industry meant operators needed a unified source of trusted operational information.

"The real challenge is bringing fragmented operational data together into a trusted, contextualised and unified source of truth. That simplifies complexity, improves decision-making, and delivers actionable intelligence. That is where Intermoda adds value."

Go-Ahead London Managing Director Andrew Edwards said the business required a technology partner capable of supporting the operational demands of London's extensive bus network.

"Utilising a flexible platform that could adapt to the specific opportunities and challenges of the London market allows us to deliver the excellent service our customers expect from us.
"Intermoda demonstrated a strong track record in public transport performance management together with a deep understanding of the complexities involved in operational performance, contractual reporting, and attribution. Its ability to tailor the platform to our requirements and work collaboratively with our team made it a strong fit for this partnership."
