Heidelberg adds to North Wales capacity

Heidelberg Materials (formerly Hanson UK) has opened a new ready-mixed concrete plant in Abergele, north Wales.

Heidelberg Materials’ new Abergele concrete plantis capable of meeting the demands of major construction projects and is equally equipped to supply ready-mixed concrete for residential uses such as foundations, driveways, pathways and patios.

The plant is supplied by the company’s adjacent Abergele quarry, removing the need for aggregateto be brought in.

The site has two concrete mixers and can supply all concrete needs – including high volume, specialist or bespoke mixes and low carbon concrete – to customers within a 20-mile radius.

“Our new Abergele concrete plant is well placed to support a wide range of customers in the region,” said area general manager Barry O’Hanlon.
