Key Digital Figure Departs Lower Thames Crossing After Five Years on Landmark Project
A senior member of the Lower Thames Crossing leadership team has announced his departure after helping oversee the digital systems underpinning one of the UK's largest infrastructure schemes.
Adam Tucker is stepping down from his role as Digital Delivery Lead on the proposed £10 billion crossing project, bringing to an end a five-year involvement with the programme.
Sharing the news on LinkedIn, Tucker reflected on joining the project during its formative stages and helping establish the digital infrastructure that now supports a complex programme spanning multiple disciplines and thousands of project activities.
During his tenure, he led the development and management of more than 35 cloud-based applications that have been used to support planning, delivery and programme management across the nationally significant road scheme.
Looking back on his time with the project, Tucker said he had witnessed significant change as the Lower Thames Crossing evolved from an emerging concept into one of the country's most high-profile transport programmes.
He noted that many of the original team members who helped launch the programme had since moved on, at times leaving him as one of the last remaining members of the early project team.
Tucker paid tribute to colleagues who helped establish the programme's digital foundations, describing the original team as instrumental in creating systems and processes that continue to support the project today.
He also acknowledged those who later took on key leadership roles as the programme expanded, thanking colleagues for helping maintain momentum during periods of growth and change.
The Lower Thames Crossing remains one of the UK's most ambitious transport infrastructure proposals, designed to create a new road link between Kent and Essex while easing pressure on the heavily congested Dartford Crossing.
Tucker's departure marks the end of a significant chapter in the programme's digital development, with his work helping shape the technology platforms and data systems that support decision-making across the project.
Concluding his announcement, he expressed gratitude to colleagues across the scheme, describing his involvement with the project as a privilege and an experience he would look back on with pride.
His next role has not yet been publicly announced.
