Residents across the Trent Valley Line are being encouraged to rally behind their communities as London Northwestern Railway (LNR) launches a public vote to decide which town will host a special visit from social media sensation, Spudman, this summer.
The new competition follows the success of the Spudman 730 tour earlier this year, where local Tamworth legend Spudman travelled along the line and handed out 730 free jacket potatoes to mark the introduction of LNR’s new 730 train fleet. Now, the partnership is returning for a second phase - this time with an exciting twist:
On July 25th, Spudman will visit one lucky location along LNR’s Trent Valley line, offering locals limited free spuds, prizes, and the opportunity to meet the potato-selling sensation himself.
To determine the winning location - communities across LNR’s Trent Valley Line will go head-to-head voting for the town of their choosing, with five locations in the running: Lichfield, Stafford, Nuneaton, Rugby and Rugeley.
To enter, locals simply need to visit the LNR website and vote for their preferred station from the options provided. The winning location will then host a Spudman pop-up takeover, featuring plenty of spud-tastic activity for the local community.

“The response to our first collaboration with Spudman was incredible, with over 3,000 people attending the activations - and the jacket potatoes quickly became a talking point along the Trent Valley Line.
“This time, we wanted to put the decision in the hands of local communities. Each of these towns has a strong connection to the route, and now they get to decide where Spudman turns up next.
“We are looking forward to seeing where the votes land, and to bringing another day of fun, celebration, and jacket potatoes to one lucky location.”
The activation forms part of LNR’s mission to encourage more people to explore the region by rail, highlighting all that the Trent Valley Line has to offer.
