Yorkshire Water Hands Egis Key Role in Multi-Million Pound AMP8 Delivery Programme

Engineering consultancy to provide technical expertise across Yorkshire Water's next generation of infrastructure projects after securing a place on the utility's £80m consultancy framework.

Egis has been selected to support the delivery of Yorkshire Water's extensive AMP8 capital investment programme after winning a place on the utility's new Technical Services and Assurance Framework.

The appointment sees the consultancy join the roster of engineering specialists that will help shape and deliver infrastructure improvements across Yorkshire Water's network over the remainder of the decade.

Running until 2030, with the potential for a two-year extension, the framework has been created to provide the water company with rapid access to specialist engineering and technical expertise as projects move from early planning through to construction.

Engineering Support Across the Project Lifecycle

Egis has secured a place on Lot 1, which focuses on project-level engineering services and is valued at £12.7 million.

Its teams will support schemes through every stage of development, undertaking feasibility assessments, developing engineering options and providing multidisciplinary design expertise covering civil, mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines.

The consultancy will also provide technical input during construction to help projects progress efficiently from concept to completion.

Supporting a Transformational Investment Programme

Yorkshire Water's AMP8 programme represents one of the company's largest periods of infrastructure investment, with projects aimed at improving network resilience, enhancing environmental performance and maintaining the long-term health of critical assets.

The framework has been designed to give the utility greater flexibility, allowing specialist consultants to be brought into projects as requirements evolve rather than relying on fixed delivery models.

By establishing a panel of technical partners, Yorkshire Water aims to accelerate project delivery while ensuring access to the specialist skills needed for increasingly complex schemes.

Expanding Water Sector Credentials

The latest appointment strengthens Egis' growing reputation within the UK and Irish water sectors.

The business already supports a number of major utilities, including Severn Trent Water and Uisce Éireann, delivering expertise across water infrastructure, environmental improvement and asset management.

Within Yorkshire Water's AMP8 programme, Egis expects to apply its experience in areas such as storm overflow reduction, pollution control and improving the resilience of ageing infrastructure.

The consultancy says the framework will also enable Yorkshire Water to draw upon expertise from its wider international engineering network where specialist knowledge is required.
